Beginning My Summer Learning Journery

Week 1: In The Beginning

Activtiy ONE: The First Settlers 

Māui is a demi god from Māori myths and legends. Here are some interesting facts that I have found out about him.

1. Māui was the youngest of his brothers and was getting into trouble alot.

2. You will not find Hawaiki on a map, but it is believed Māori came from an island or group of islands in Polynesia in the South Pacific Ocean.

3.  There are distinct similarities between the Māori language and culture and others of Polynesia including the Cook Islands, Hawaii, and Tahiti.

I watched the movie Moana where Māui was the demi god who helped Moana save her land. He was very arrogant and stubborn. He has magic powers and could turn into different animals (shape-shifter).

I like Monkeys

I like them

Ask me why?

Because they are always cute and they love climbing trees  

Because they so fluffy

Because they are nice and sometimes scary  

Because they say ooh ahh  

Because their soft and I love them  

Because their hang on branch to branch with their hairy arms

Because they sing amazing

Because their fur is soft and they are cuddly  

Because.

Because.

That’s why I like Monkeys
